Oitenta e cinco skatistas de todas as idades participaram, no último domingo (27), do 1º Campeonato Skate Family, no Centro Esportivo “Dr. Artidoro Mascarenhas”, mais conhecido como “Dr. Pitico”, disputando as categorias Feminino, Mirim, Iniciante e Master. Os três primeiros colocados de cada categoria ganharam troféus. Já, os competidores que ficaram entre o quarto e o décimo lugar receberam medalhas de participação.
Organizado pela Associação de Skate de Sorocaba (Asks), com apoio da Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Esporte e Qualidade de Vida (Sequav), e da Federação Paulista de Skate, o evento esportivo beneficente recebeu um público de mais de 400 pessoas durante todo o dia. A entrada foi um kg de alimento não perecível ou um litro de leite para quem pudesse ajudar. Todos os produtos foram destinados à Casa de Amparo “Hesley Felipe Alba dos Santos”.
O objetivo foi de abrir espaço para que praticantes da modalidade mostrassem todo seu desempenho e manobras na pista e a importância que esse esporte tem em Sorocaba, principalmente para os novos atletas que estão se destacando no cenário nacional do skate e buscam apoio para disputar campeonatos maiores e de alto nível.
“A competição contou com a participação de 85 competidores de Sorocaba e de outros municípios do Estado de São Paulo, como Salto de Pirapora, Iperó, Campinas, Indaiatuba, Itu, entre outros. Em nome da Associação de Skate de Sorocaba agradeço a presença de todos os atletas, pais e amantes do esporte, músicos, patrocinadores e apoiadores, entre eles a Prefeitura de Sorocaba, que foram essenciais para que o campeonato acontecesse”, destacou o presidente da Asks, André Paká, que também é integrante da Federação Paulista de Skate.
“É uma grande satisfação abrir o nosso Centro Esportivo para sediar competições esportivas tão importantes, como essa, e ver crianças, jovens e adultos praticando essa modalidade, que só vem crescendo em todo o País”, enfatiza o secretário de Esporte e Qualidade de Vida, Vitor Hugo Tavares.
