Participantes do curso de culinária afro de São José dos Campos realizaram, nesta semana, mais uma das receitas que a oficina oferece: a cocada baiana.
O prato é um dos doces mais tradicionais do Brasil e surgiu em meados no século 18, na Bahia, trazidos pelos povos africanos. Os doces eram preparados pelas mulheres escravizadas e, ao anoitecer, quando todos se reuniam para dançar e se distrair após a árdua rotina de escravidão, a cocada era consumida.
Roseli Monteiro Ribeiro, de 62 anos é uma das alunas do curso e aprova “É maravilhosa, além de aprender a preparar esses alimentos, você conhece a história que tem por trás da receita. Estou aproveitando bastante e espero que mais pessoas venham participar do curso”.
Inscrições abertas
A oficina é oferecida pelo Centro de Referência Afro-Brasileira e as inscrições seguem abertas. As oficinas são gratuitas e irão até janeiro de 2024.
A oficina oferece 40 vagas, 20 para o período da manhã (no Cras Centro – Rua Machado Sidney, 145 – ao lado da Casa do Idoso Centro) e 20 no período da noite (no Centro de Referência Afro-Brasileira – Rua Henrique Dias, 363 – Monte Castelo).
Com o objetivo de valorizar a culinária tipicamente brasileira, o curso resgata aspectos históricos e culturais, uma herança deixada pelos indígenas e negros ao longo de gerações.
Em cada encontro, os participantes irão receber informações sobre elementos da cultura africana e realizarão uma receita típica.
