A Biblioteca Pública Municipal Cassiano Ricardo completa 55 anos em São José dos Campos nesta sexta-feira (20). Em comemoração, uma exposição que conta a história dos espaços está à disposição do público durante este mês com álbuns de fotos, objetos pessoais do escritor Cassiano Ricardo, tapeçaria antiga, escultura e muito mais.
História e curiosidades
Tombado pelo patrimônio histórico, o edifício que abriga a Biblioteca Municipal Cassiano Ricardo já serviu de cinema, teatro e local voltado para bailes populares. O prédio ainda abrigou a Prefeitura e a Câmara Municipal. Confira algumas curiosidades:
– O acervo da biblioteca possui algumas raridades, como obras do poeta Cassiano Ricardo e uma coleção do escritor Júlio Verne de 1888 a 1907.
– A Biblioteca oferece uma programação cultural e educativa gratuita e aberta ao público.
– O acervo conta com cerca de 30 mil livros
– O espaço é amplo, possui um auditório para 80 pessoas e dois salões para consultas e leituras de livros, jornais e revistas.
– Diversos exemplares com escrita em braile, e o setor infantil, para crianças de 0 até 12 anos de idade, que agrada os visitantes, especialmente nas férias escolares
A Biblioteca Pública Cassiano Ricardo fica na Rua XV de novembro, 99, Centro e funciona de segunda a sexta-feira, das 8h15 às 11h45 e das 13h15 às 16h45. A entrada e toda programação é gratuita.
