Nove embarcações recém-adquiridas pela Comlurb entraram em operação no complexo de sete ilhas da Barra da Tijuca, na Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas e nas áreas costeiras do Museu do Amanhã. Os equipamentos são usados no transporte de resíduos sólidos e flutuantes removidos das águas e, ainda, em coleta domiciliar. Com o novo material, os serviços passam a ter mais agilidade e eficiência.
As ilhas da Barra ganharam quatro embarcações para a coleta domiciliar. São três catamarãs de pequeno porte, com sistema eletromecânico de elevação do cesto dianteiro, além de um equipamento tipo chata, usado em locais de difícil acesso.
