Nesta última terça-feira, 12, o prefeito de Ubatuba, Marcio Maciel (MDB), concedeu entrevista em duas rádios locais para divulgar o acordo firmado entre a Prefeitura Municipal de Ubatuba e a Fundação belga ISCM.
O acordo prevê a produção de hidrogênio verde na cidade com injeção de 21 bilhões de reais, e visa transformar Ubatuba em uma das cidades líderes mundiais da chamada “revolução energética”, ou seja, a transição de um mundo carbono zero através de investimentos em energia renovável.
“Seremos a primeira cidade do Estado de São Paulo a ter um convênio nesse valor. É a oportunidade de uma virada de chave, que deve garantir um futuro próspero e rico a nossa querida Ubatuba”, comentou o prefeito aos ouvintes.
Não é para menos que o prefeito está otimista: o hidrogênio verde é apontado pelos cientistas como o combustível do futuro e pelos economistas como a nova “commodity energética”.
Uma das entrevistas contou com a participação do CEO da Fundação no Brasil, Professor Doutor Gustavo Medina, que explicou que a próxima etapa será o estudo de viabilidade técnica para a implantação do projeto. “A Fundação tem tecnologias de última geração e Ubatuba condições geográficas muito propícias para a implantação como sua bacia hidrográfica, a proximidade do mar com bons portos”, apontou.
O estudo de viabilidade não terá custo algum os cofres públicos. “A Prefeitura de Ubatuba não entrará com investimento, apenas dará o suporte institucional para o projeto acontecer”, ainda esclareceu Dr. Medina.
Registrada na ONU e membro da Aliança Europeia para o Hidrogênio Limpo, a Fundação ISCM tem projetos do hidrogênio verde em andamento em outras partes do mundo. Só no México são seis cidades em fase de implantação.
Além de gerar riquezas e promover empregos, o projeto poderá melhorar a qualidade do ar e a despoluição dos rios da cidade. Já estamos estudando como prioridades a modernização e ampliação da Santa Casa de Misericórdia e a despoluição do rio Acaraú”, mencionou o prefeito.
