A equipe sub-20 do São José Basketball conquistou o vice-campeonato paulista da categoria. Na noite de sexta-feira (15), o time joseense lutou até o fim, mas acabou superado pelo Corinthians por 104 a 96, após a disputa de três prorrogações, no ginásio Linneu de Moura.
O São José precisava vencer para forçar o jogo 3 da série final, já que na quinta-feira (14) havia perdido para o Corinthians em São Paulo por 60 a 62, em mais um jogo equilibrado do começo ao fim.
Apesar da derrota na final, a campanha joseense deve ser muito valorizada, pois até chegar à decisão o time acumulava 19 vitórias e apenas três derrotas ao longo da competição.
O time joseense, dirigido pelo técnico Cristiano Ahmed, levantou o troféu de vice-campeão com os seguintes atletas: Gabriel Caldeira, Felipe Faustino, Gabriel Furlan, Caio Henrique, Afonso Pacheco, Kauê, Felipe Gregate, João Nickel, Thales Guedes, Bruno Foresti, Cauã, Pedro Couto, Carlos Barreto e João Guimarães.
A equipe disputa a temporada com apoio da Prefeitura, por meio da Secretaria de Esporte e Qualidade de Vida.
