Nova Iguaçu promove 1ª Feira de Adoção de Animais em 2024
A Prefeitura de Nova Iguaçu vai promover, nesta terça-feira (30), a primeira edição de 2024 da Feira Municipal de Adoção de Animais, com cães e gatos, na Praça de Eventos do Top Shopping. Iniciada em maio do ano passado, a ação promoveu quase 80 adoções nas oito edições já realizadas.
Para adotar um cão ou gato, o interessado deverá preencher um termo de adoção responsável no qual o tutor se compromete a oferecer os cuidados necessários ao animal. Os pets são entregues já castrados e vermifugados, com exceção dos filhotes ainda com pouca idade para passar pelo procedimento.
Estes são inseridos no serviço de castração gratuita da prefeitura – realizado em parceria com o Hospital Veterinário da Estádio – no ato da adoção. Quando chegarem na idade apropriada, eles serão castrados. Os bichinhos de estimação também sairão da feira já com a dose da vacina antirrábica.
A feira é organizada pela Assessoria Especial de Proteção Animal, órgão ligado à Secretaria Municipal de Governo (SEMUG), e conta com o apoio da Subsecretaria de Vigilância em Saúde e de protetores de animais de rua. São estes protetores parceiros que resgatam e cuidam dos animais até que eles estejam prontos para serem adotados.
Assessora especial de Proteção Animal de Nova Iguaçu, Naira Pereira explica que o trabalho não se encerra quando um cão ou gato é adotado nas feiras. No ato da adoção, os novos tutores são cadastrados e monitorados nos meses seguintes. O objetivo é se certificar que o animal está sendo bem cuidado e levando uma vida saudável. “Nosso papel é a busca pela adoção responsável. A gente acompanha, telefona, pede fotos, interage de todas as formas para ter a certeza de que o animal está em boas mãos”, disse Naira.
O Top Shopping fica na Avenida Governador Roberto Silveira, nº 540, no Centro de Nova Iguaçu. A ação acontece das 10h às 15h.
