A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Cultura (Secult), realizará o Festival de Lanternas, com a professora de Mandarim e Cultura Oriental, Meng-Hsun Lee, nas Bibliotecas Municipais de Sorocaba. A programação gratuita acontece nesta sexta-feira (23), às 14h, na Biblioteca Infantil Municipal “Renato Sêneca de Sá Fleury”. Já no dia 29 de fevereiro, às 14h, a atração será promovida na Biblioteca Municipal “Jorge Guilherme Senger”.
O intuito do Festival de Lanternas, último dia da celebração do Ano Novo Chinês, é fomentar a cultura oriental, de forma lúdica. A tradição desta festa é pendurar lanternas em árvores e às margens de rios. Outra tradição é adivinhar os enigmas nas lanternas.
Na atividade, o público poderá confeccionar a sua própria lanterna e um biscuit em formato de tartaruga. A programação é gratuita e aberta a todos, sem necessidade de inscrição prévia.
