Uma equipe do Grupamento de Guardas Motociclistas (GGM), que atua na fiscalização da faixa exclusiva do BRT na Avenida Brasil, prendeu um motociclista de 34 anos flagrado dirigindo uma moto sem placa, na altura do Trevo das Margaridas, na quinta-feira (7/3). O suspeito levou uma multa no valor de R$ 293,47, com perda de sete pontos na carteira, e foi levado para a 27ª DP (Irajá), onde o caso foi registrado. Ele também estava circulando na faixa exclusiva.
Essa é a terceira ocorrência do tipo registrada essa semana pelas equipes do GGM. Os flagrantes aconteceram na segunda-feira (4/3) e na quarta-feira (6/3), na altura de Ramos e do Caju. O condutor de uma motocicleta estava circulando com lacre e fita isolante na placa do veículo na faixa seletiva. Já o condutor de um carro foi flagrado dirigindo com duas toalhas nas placas dianteira e traseira. Ele também não possuía carteira de habilitação.
A Guarda Municipal do Rio (GM-Rio) já aplicou 1.277 multas pelo trânsito irregular de veículos na faixa exclusiva do BRT Transbrasil. A fiscalização está sendo realizada desde outubro de 2023, quando começou a vigorar a regra, e, desde o dia 26 de fevereiro, há o reforço do monitoramento com drones, que gerou a aplicação de 69 multas. A atuação da GM-Rio é complementar a fiscalização eletrônica realizada pela CET-Rio. O objetivo é promover a mobilidade urbana e priorizar a segurança viária.
