A prática da pesca esportiva é permitida, em trecho urbano e determinado do Rio Sorocaba, segundo as instruções normativas nº 25 e nº 26 do Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama). Para proporcionar mais conforto aos usuários da prática esportiva, a Prefeitura, por meio do Saae (Serviço Autônomo de Água e Esgoto) Sorocaba, instalou estruturas com bancos e deques nesse trecho, que fica entre a ponte do Pinga-Pinga e o deck do Parque das Águas.
O pescador amador pode pescar, somente no trecho autorizado, desde que utilize vara, linha e anzol simples (preferencialmente sem a fisga), carretilha e molinete.
A instalação das estruturas, além de oferecer conforto aos praticantes, ajuda a sinalizar os locais onde a pesca é permitida, evitando que aconteça em locais onde há restrições impostas pela legislação.
