O prefeito do Rio, Eduardo Paes, esteve na Zona Oeste na tarde desta sexta-feira (29/03) e entregou aos moradores do Mangueiral, na Vila Aliança, as obras do programa Bairro Maravilha. No total, 22 ruas da comunidade foram recuperadas, incluindo a Estrada do Taquaral e a Rua Henrique Belivaque Frankel. Entre os serviços entregues estão implantação de galerias pluviais para o escoamento eficaz de água da chuva, instalação de redes de água potável e esgoto sanitário, calçamento e pavimentação para melhorar a circulação da população. As obras foram feitas pela Secretaria de Infraestrutura, com investimento de R$ 7,1 milhões.
A Prefeitura está implementando 101 obras do programa Bairro Maravilha. Somente na Zona Oeste, 85 localidades receberão intervenções. As ruas ganharam saneamento básico, pavimentação e calçamento. Além disso, melhoraram a capacidade de escoamento da água da chuva e a acessibilidade.
O Jardim Maravilha, em Guaratiba, é um dos locais que recebem obras do Bairro Maravilha, para melhoria da urbanização e da infraestrutura do local, que foi afetada durante chuvas fortes. O investimento total para o programa é de mais de R$ 1 bilhão. Até fevereiro deste ano, cerca de 70 quilômetros de urbanização já tinham sido executados pelo Bairro Maravilha.
