Uma resolução assinada durante a Agrishow em Ribeirão Preto vai impulsionar a produção de biogás e biometano em São Paulo, a partir de biomassa da cana-de-açúcar, resíduos agropecuários e do lixo. A medida é resultado de uma parceria entre as secretarias de Meio Ambiente, Infraestrutura e Logística (Semil) e Agricultura e Abastecimento e visa estabelecer diretrizes no licenciamento ambiental de projetos de gás.
Além de promover benefícios ambientais, a resolução busca fornecer segurança jurídica e previsibilidade ao mercado, impulsionando projetos de gás renovável e gerando emprego e renda no estado.
A subsecretária de Energia e Mineração da secretaria de Meio Ambiente, Infraestrutura e Logística, Marisa Barros, considera a resolução um passo significativo na transição energética do estado, com o setor sucroenergético assumindo um papel fundamental com estimativa de produção diária de biogás de mais de 30 milhões de metros cúbicos. “Com regras claras, incluindo as regras de licenciamento ambiental, a gente consegue tornar o ambiente de negócios em São Paulo mais favorável à realização desses investimentos”, afirma.
O biogás e o biometano são cruciais para a estratégia paulista de reduzir emissões de gases de efeito estufa. O biometano pode substituir o gás natural e usado em indústrias e veículos, contribuindo para a descarbonização.
