Hospital Santa Isabel realiza primeira cirurgia oncoplástica e fortalece combate ao câncer de mama

A equipe de Mastologia do Hospital Municipal Santa Isabel (HMSI), administrado pela Prefeitura de João Pessoa, realizou a primeira cirurgia oncoplástica mamária do serviço, procedimento que recupera a autoestima e renova a autoconfiança da mulher em tratamento do câncer de mama, fortalecendo o combate à doença.
A primeira cirurgia oncoplástica do Serviço de Mastologia do HMSI, chefiada pela médica mastologista Jeane Nogueira, beneficiou uma paciente de 40 anos, com câncer na mama esquerda, que havia sido submetida a quimioterapia neoadjuvante com boa resposta.
“Muito feliz em poder proporcionar as nossas pacientes oncológicas um tratamento que aumenta a autoestima e as deixa livre do estigma da mutilação, muitas vezes imposta pelo tratamento do câncer de mama”, afirmou a médica Jeane Nogueira.
Ela explicou que a paciente foi submetida a quadrantectomia esquerda, mais biópsia de Linfonodo sentinela, marcação do leito tumoral com clipe para guiar a radioterapia e reconstrução imediata com técnicas de oncoplastia, mais a simetrização da mama contralateral.
O câncer de mama é uma das doenças que mais atinge as mulheres em todo o mundo e a retirada das mamas, seja parcial ou total, pode afetar a autoestima da paciente. A cirurgia oncoplástica mamária, que passa a ser realizada no Hospital Municipal Santa Isabel, aprimora, com seu benefício estético, a autoestima e autoconfiança das pacientes.
