A Vigilância Epidemiológica (Viep) de Ubatuba, da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde, informa que há um alerta sobre a circulação do vírus da febre amarela no Estado de São Paulo e que pessoas não vacinadas contra a doença devem procurar uma Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) para garantir a imunização.
O comunicado estadual indica dois casos de febre amarela na região de Campinas. No entanto, por Ubatuba ser uma cidade que atrai muitos turistas, há o risco de circulação do vírus no município.
A Viep ressalta que está monitorando as notificações de casos suspeitos nas unidades de saúde e que a vacinação pode ser aplicada em crianças, adultos e idosos.
Sobre a febre amarela
A febre amarela é uma doença infecciosa febril aguda, causada por um vírus transmitido por mosquitos vetores e não há transmissão direta de pessoa a pessoa. A vacina é a principal ferramenta de prevenção e controle.
Entre os principais sintomas da doença estão febre, dor de cabeça e no corpo, vômitos, fadiga e fraqueza. Em casos graves, os sintomas podem evoluir para icterícia (coloração amarelada da pele e do branco dos olhos), hemorragia e até mesmo choque e insuficiência de múltiplos órgãos.
