A equipe “Ubatuba Hoe”, da escolinha de Canoa Havaiana da cidade, acabou de chegar à praia da Curva da Jurema, no Espírito Santo, para a participação no Campeonato Brasileiro Maratona V6, organizado pela Confederação Brasileira de VA’A (CBVA’A). O evento, que será realizado de 17 a 19 de maio, também será uma seletiva para o Pan-americano da modalidade, que acontece em novembro, em Niterói, no Rio de Janeiro.
O time de Ubatuba é composto por sete atletas da cidade, sendo quatro adultos e três jovens. Os alunos da escolinha, Kaique Passos e Joaquim Fernandes, ambos na categoria JR19, estão nas terras capixabas em busca do tricampeonato brasileiro. O entusiasmo pelo pódio também é compartilhado pela colega Alice Guedes, categoria JR16. “A expectativa para as categorias juniores é a vitória”, destaca o técnico da equipe, Lucas Miom.
Já a equipe com os quatro adultos, dos quais Miom faz parte, vai competir na categoria OPEN, que reúne atletas a partir dos 16 anos. “Será bem acirrado, pois há muitas equipes boas na disputa”, comentou o técnico.
O secretário de Esporte e Lazer, Saulo Souza, compartilha do entusiasmo sobre o pódio. “A equipe está pronta para trazer resultados para Ubatuba e levar o nome da cidade para todos os cantos. Estamos confiantes no sucesso deles”, conclui Souza.
