Atletas da equipe de basquete feminino do São José Basketball visitaram na manhã desta quinta-feira (10) a Emefi Professor Álvaro Gonçalves, no Campo dos Alemães, para uma vivência esportiva junto aos alunos do ensino fundamental.

Já a jogadora Giovana, que começou a praticar basquete aos 10 anos no programa Atleta Cidadão, destacou a importância de despertar cedo para o esporte.
“Se vocês gostam do basquete comecem agora, quanto mais cedo melhor. Conversem com seus pais e pedem para eles verem onde tem lugar para treinar. O esporte abre muitas portas, dá oportunidade de viajar e conhecer muitos lugares”, disse Giovana.
O segundo momento do encontro foi uma atividade prática na quadra da escola, onde as jogadoras passaram aos alunos noções básicas de fundamentos, como arremessos da linha de lance livre, condução com a bola, entre outros movimentos específicos do esporte.
Para o técnico Leandro Leal, momentos como esse são essenciais para as jogadoras. “Esse contato com as crianças é sensacional, pois permite compartilhar experiências e ver que elas podem servir de exemplo para as crianças”.
As visitas das equipes de alto rendimento nas escolas municipais começaram este ano e visam a integração entre atletas e alunos, numa parceria das Secretarias de Governança, Esporte e Qualidade de Vida e Educação e Cidadania.
