A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Cultura (Secult), recebeu, nesta sexta-feira (26), a visita do produtor cinematográfico Rui Pires, no Chalé Francês, no Centro de Sorocaba.
Na ocasião, o produtor apresentou à equipe da Secult dois projetos de longa-metragem e demonstrou interesse em realizar as gravações em Sorocaba. Os projetos foram contemplados pela Lei Paulo Gustavo, promovida pelo Governo Federal, por meio do Ministério da Cultura, regulamentada pelo Decreto Federal nº 11.525/2023.
Rui Pires é natural de Jacarezinho (PR) e iniciou na área de produção em 1994, desenvolvendo videoclipes, peças teatrais e videoarte. Ao longo da carreira, participou de produções renomadas no cinema brasileiro, como “Carandiru” (2003), “Entre Vales” (2012), “Até que a Sorte nos Separe 3” (2015) e “Era o Hotel Cambridge” (2016).
A trajetória cinematográfica de Rui soma, ainda, produções reconhecidas internacionalmente, com diversos projetos indicados a prêmios, como o Prêmio Hubert Bals Fund (Holanda) e Prêmio da Indústria/Cine em Construcción do Festival de San Sebastián (Espanha), além de ter participado de importantes festivais como o Festival de Cannes, Berlinale, Locarno Festival, Festival Internacional de Cinema de Rotterdam, entre outros.
