Guardas municipais do Subgrupamento de Operações Náuticas (SGOP) recolheram um balão, na manhã deste domingo (5/5), que estava próximo à Estação de Rádio da Marinha, na Ilha do Governador, na Zona Norte.
A equipe estava realizando patrulhamento preventivo na Baía de Guanabara quando fez o flagrante. No local há grandes tonéis de produtos inflamáveis. Os guardas municipais apagaram as buchas do balão, prevenindo qualquer tipo de acidente ou danos ao meio ambiente.
A lei de crimes ambientais (lei no 9.695/1988) proíbe a fabricação, venda, transporte e soltura de balões que podem provocar incêndio em florestas e também em áreas urbanas. O crime tem pena de detenção ou pagamento de multa.
