Calouros da Faculdade de Ciências Médicas Humanitas, de São José dos Campos, participaram na segunda-feira (29) da primeira edição de 2024 do programa Party, de prevenção de traumas relacionados ao uso de álcool e direção por jovens.
O evento foi realizado no anfiteatro do Hospital Municipal para cerca de 70 estudantes de medicina, com palestras de profissionais que fazem parte do programa, exibição de vídeos e depoimentos.
O Party é uma iniciativa conjunta do Hospital Municipal, Centro de Reabilitação Lucy Montoro, Prefeitura, Samu, Corpo do Bombeiros e Polícia Rodoviária Federal.
O objetivo é alertar os jovens sobre os riscos de morte e sequelas graves em consequência de acidentes de trânsito envolvendo o consumo de álcool ou desrespeito às leis de trânsito.
Impacto
Os depoimentos de William Silvestre e Michael Jesus dos Santos encerraram o evento. William ficou paraplégico e Michael teve metade da perna amputada em consequência de um acidente. Nenhum dos dois havia consumido álcool, mas no caso de William o outro motorista estava sob efeito de bebida.
As declarações foram impactantes, mostrando como a vida deles e das respectivas famílias mudou em um segundo. “Tivemos que aceitar a nova realidade e nos adaptarmos para seguir nossa rotina”, disse William.
Reflexão
“Foi importante participar, foi uma oportunidade necessária para podermos pensar sobre esse tema”, disse Victor Magalhães, do Rio de Janeiro. Para Gabriel Borssato, de Varginha, a conscientização é muito importante. “Muitas pessoas usam celular enquanto dirigem ou consomem álcool.”
O professor Luiz Antonio Vane, diretor geral da faculdade, disse que faz questão de trazer os calouros, no primeiro dia de aula, para participar do Party.
“É um programa maravilhoso, que começou no Canadá, hoje está em vários países e desperta o jovem para uma realidade que pode começar com um simples deslize, como beber ou usar o celular enquanto dirige, e que pode tirar a pessoa da vida”, afirmou Vane. “No Party, esse alerta é feito por uma equipe multidisciplinar capacitada.”
Balanço
Do total de pacientes atendidos por traumas pelo Centro de Reabilitação Lucy Montoro em 2023, cerca de 50% tinham menos de 30 anos. Na maioria são jovens que sofrem acidentes de trânsito.
Mantido pela Prefeitura e gerenciado pela SPDM (Associação Paulista para o Desenvolvimento da Medicina), o Hospital Municipal também gerencia o Centro de Reabilitação Lucy Montoro, do Governo do Estado.
