A Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais (PMMG) realiza até 8/2 a Operação Minas em Segurança, que tem objetivo aumentar a sensação de segurança, reduzir a criminalidade e a violência em todo estado por meio de ações preventivas e operações qualificadas.
A referida operação coincide com o período que antecede as festividades do Carnaval 2024.
Nesse período, serão desencadeadas operações específicas. Na quinta-feira (1/2) e nesta sexta (2/2), foi realizada a segunda fase da operação para cumprimento de mandados de prisão, que retirou das ruas 126 foragidos da Justiça.
Ao longo do período, serão implementadas as operações Balneários, para abordagens a pessoas, veículos e embarcações suspeitas, Segurança no Campo”, com objetivo enfrentamento sistemático as aos crimes em zonas rurais do estado e a operação Rolezinho com o objetivo de reduzir a prática de infrações previstas no Código de Trânsito Brasileiro (CTB).
Dentro do planejamento, está previsto o emprego de efetivo do policiamento ostensivo geral, policiamento de trânsito urbano e rodoviário, policiamento de Meio Ambiente, além de ações de inteligência e emprego de unidades especializadas: Rondas Táticas Metropolitanas (Rotam), Regimento de Cavalaria Alferes Tiradentes (RCAT), Batalhão de Choque, Rondas Ostensivas Com Cães (ROOCA), e do Comando de Aviação do Estado (Comave).
