A Biblioteca Municipal Ateneu Ubatubense comemora um recorde neste ano de 2023, com a notável presença de 9.084 visitantes. Esse crescimento reflete o aumento das consultas ao acervo (6.129); os empréstimos de livros (3.725) e a presença de escolas (34).
Também desempenhou um papel fundamental para esse crescimento, o projeto Biblioteca Maurício de Sousa. O projeto, contemplado pelo governo do Estado, enviou 120 livros e 36 gibis do acervo da Turma da Mônica para a Biblioteca de Ubatuba e atraiu um público diversificado. “Esse projeto aumentou muito as visitas em nossa biblioteca, fiquei muito satisfeito com o resultado”, expressou Douglas Oliveira, agente cultural da Fundart.
